FruitCake

…….curl up with a cup of coffee and a good book. That’s what I did, and do when it rains and pours in Nurnberg. I look outside my window from our apartment on the 4th floor, and watch the trees outside sway madly to the blowing winds.  There’s always a forewarning to such rains, and those are the big dark grey clouds that roll over slowly, and then the cold wind starts to blow.

I love the rain…….when I am inside a safe place!

For dinner tonight, I made some Aloo Parathas and Dal. Simple, we keep dinner simple and I just started perfecting the parathas. I am amazed at how much I have taught myself in cooking. I knew the basics and could keep my significant other happy, but I started experimenting only when I came to Nuernberg. Our kitchen is tiny, but it is enough for me to keep a well stocked pantry and its my laboratory! I cook, bake, stew, roast, fry, grill………and the results have been good. I am going to miss this time when I have to start work.
