Eating with my head, and not my heart!
My dad instilled healthy eating in me since forever………i eat with my head most of the time ,not with my mind! Know what I mean? I eat knowing that I am eating goodness, and I feel satiated with it. Not like I don’t have times where I crave for a greasy pizza or a sugary pastry! Those times are there, but they are few. Of late, I am trying to pour green tea down my throat! My dad has this tower- built with the boxes of green tea he has consumed over time. The olive green steel tins that hold Twinnings Green Tea, are stacked neatly in the corner of the dining room of my parents’ house and it has become a point of attraction when guests come home. Well, my husband and myself are trying to build up anti-oxidants, reduce the free radicals and work on stabilising all those levels to have a happy, healthy heart. And if it involves drinking Green Tea- sans all the goodness of the Chai, then so be it!
I went shopping for fruits at the Turkish market here. Ripe red cherries gleamed, bright green Granny Smith apples beckoned, soft brown velvety kiwis smiled, and a Musk Melon called - they all sold themselves to me. I came home happy knowing that my fridge will be packed with multivitamins and minerals.
