An Asian fest in Suedstadt!
On Friday night ,we were invited by one of our friends in Nurnberg, to visit the Asian fair being held in the older part of Nurnberg.
R and me walked down to the old part, and found a different part of town that we had never been to! It was fun to discover a side of the town we never knew existed. The fair was nice, a little crowded though. We sampled some satays and momos, from a Japanese stall and though I don’t know what their Japanese names are, they were basically satays and momos! Various Indische (Indian in Duestche) stalls are been put up, and were offering samosas, chaats, lassis, tikkas, pulaos and curries, choles, etc. Ofcourse, the beer stands were in plenty. A stage had been set up for cultural performances- we saw some Indian dances, an Indonesian one (pretty interesting), a Philipino performance and a couple of East Asian numbers. The Indian performances had the audience (predominantly German) tapping their feet, whistling and even dancing along.
It was rather cold and R did not have a jacket. Moreover, we were done with dinner at home and we don’t drink beer, so we thought best to look around and then come back home. It was a nice experience though!
