Altstadt…..the older part of town in Nuernberg
Somedays, when I walk around the Altstadt area of Nurnberg- the older part of town. Cobbled streets and walkways are common here, and lots and lots of shops. Kind of like the Brigade Road of Nurnberg! Bakeries, ice-cream stands, and other eateries dot the line of shops, and there are so many street performers to grace the air with music and laughter. The other day I saw a person dressed up in this green goblin kind of dress, playing a pipe, and R said that it was the ‘Pied Piper of Hamlin’! Today I passed by two musicians playing lovely guitar music, and another lady dressed in this billowing gown, standing on stilts!
I stopped by to get myself a sandwich, very easily available anywhere around here. Bought myself a tomato-mozzarella one of whole wheat, and munched away as I sat on one of the benches. The weather was cool, sometimes wet, but mostly cool and cloudy. I’d been scouring the town for a gift for one of our friends, whom we will be meeting next weekend. Not found anything yet, though I have my eyes on some souvenirs particular to Nuernberg. Got to check with R first.
Came home and cooked up a kofta-curry. Yesterday was GREEN DAY- had Green Granny Smith apples for a snack, two cups of Green tea, and a green pesto pasta with broccolli for dinner. R has taken a special liking for Green pesto.
I am going to head out for some more groceries and some more gift searching.
